FAQ

What is your question about?

My booking

  • I have booked a studio. What’s next?

    You have booked a studio at DUWO student housing. DUWO is not a hotel but a social housing company (also called a housing corporation, a Dutch concept). Therefore, you must sign a tenancy agreement with DUWO and provide certain documents. It goes as follows:

    1. We will send you an activation e-mail for My DUWO: that's your personal login page.

    2. Upload the requested documents to My DUWO

    3. Once your documents have been approved, you will receive an e-mail to sign your contract online.

    4. In this mail, click on the link to sign your tenancy agreement and verify whether there is an open amount (first payment) to be paid. If so, pay it via My DUWO.

    5. Follow the instructions in My DUWO to sign your tenancy agreement online

  • Why do I have to sign a tenancy agreement?

    You have booked a studio at DUWO student housing. DUWO is a social housing company (also called a housing corporation, a Dutch concept). This has the following consequences.
    A lease agreement contains the arrangements between the tenant and the landlord of a property. It concerns the rent amount, the method of payment and a description of the housing.
    Will you stay in the Netherlands for more than 4 months? Then you must register with the municipality where you are living. When registering, you must show them the tenancy agreement

  • What information should I provide for the tenancy agreement?

    Before you can sign your tenancy agreement, you must upload a number of documents in My DUWO: your personal login page.

    Are you a PhD, masters, bachelor or exchange student?

    We would like to receive:

    - A copy of your ID card / passport;

    - A proof of full-time study at the WUR. This is a valid campus and/or college card which mentions the academic year, or an official enrolment from the WUR, or an official certificate from the WUR that you are a PhD student.

    Are you a guest lecturer, guest assistant or researcher?

    We would like to receive:

    - A copy of your ID card / passport;

    - A Dutch income statement. This could be an employment contract with the WUR or a salary payslip. A statement from the WUR in which your income is mentioned is also sufficient.

  • Why do guest lecturers, guest assistants and researchers need proof of income?

    The Dutch government requires that we ask our tenants for a proof of income. There are a few different ways to provide a proof of income. This could be an employment contract with the WUR or a salary payslip. A statement from the WUR in which your income is mentioned is also sufficient. In addition, we ask you for a copy of your ID / passport.

  • When do I have to pay?

    Before you can sign your tenancy agreement, you must have transferred the amount of your so-called first payment. This payment consists of the rent for the first month (or the first month-and-a-half), and the reservation and mediation fee. You pay this first payment via My DUWO (your personal login page).

    This first payment must be received by DUWO no later than 2 weeks after your documents have been approved.

  • How do I get my key?

    A few days before you arrive, we will send you an e-mail with information about your stay and the code of the safe in which your key will be waiting.

  • What is available in the studio?

    On the inventory you can see what furniture is available in the studio.

  • I have just reserved a studio but I would like to reserve another accommodation type. Is that possible?

    Send your question via the contact form. We will then let you know as soon as possible whether it is possible to reserve another accommodation type.
